Postdoctoral Research Chemist (KTP Associate)

Exactmer, together with Queen Mary University of London, is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Chemist to work as a KTP Associate on the synthesis of our exact PEGs.

The successful candidate will seek to develop the chemistry for iterative chain extension of polyethylene glycols (PEGs), purifying the growing polymers by organic solvent nano-filtration. This involves growing the polymers on a soluble hub molecule, to which 2 or more growing polymers are attached. The Associate will synthesise hub molecules, monomers and polymers, through repeated coupling, deprotections reactions and membrane separations on 1-10 g scale. They will analyse the growing polymer chain using UPLC-MS, GPC, NMR and other techniques. They will work on applications of these polymers in drug PEGylation and Antibody-drug constructs.

It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 2 years, with an expected start date not later than 1st September 2022.
