Business Development and Operations Associate/Senior Associate – London Based

Exactmer is a rapidly growing life sciences company, dedicated to producing precision polymeric molecules with our patented Nanostar Sieving Technology. Using this disruptive new platform, we are creating exquisite synthetic and biological polymers, including oligonucleotides, mono-disperse polyethylene glycols (PEGs), ADC linkers, peptides and more……..most of them bound for use in medicines that enhance patient quality of life.

London-based, we are entering a rapid phase of growth and are seeking a self-starting, dynamic, flexible and committed individual to join our Business team. We are interested in outstanding individuals keen to work on creating long-term value for the business and ready to grow their skills and experience as the company grows.

You will work in two business areas:

  • Business Development – You will work on a wide range of customer and sponsor facing business development challenges. You will help the team to identify relevant funding opportunities and to prepare research grant and contract proposals. You will also contribute to the preparation of commercial agreements. You will develop marketing materials for clients and sponsors, and you will manage our marketing channels. You will also support the team to update financial forecasts and develop financial scenarios.
  • Business Operations – You will support company operations, including answering queries on purchases and suppliers, managing accounts, dealing with facilities matters including leases, pensions and insurance. You will support financial management, including financial forecasts, statutory accounts, and reporting and claiming research grants including preparing and submitting financial claims and supporting financial audits. You will also support the company operations generally including the recruitment of new team members.

Candidates should have a scientific background (Chemistry preferred) preferably with a PhD; an ambition to develop and use business and operational skills, and a desire to learn fast about many different aspects of a start-up. Experience of business, finance, project management or grant and contract preparation would be valued and we are open to candidates at different career stages.
